Below is a link to the most reliable information regarding the status of the Susquehanna County Commissioner Candidates. This information was supplied by Gary Wilder, Susquehanna County Voter Registrar. The paper has handwritten on the bottom ” Official Returns - Pre Final Certification 11/15/2007, G.A Wilder, Voter Registrar”. While these results are almost anitclimatic to anyone who has been reading this blog, there are some surprises. Remember, you read it here first! No sense in waiting for the newspapers next Tuesday or Wednesday!

So, there you have it. History has been made in Susquehanna County with the first elected Democratic majoriy county commisioners.
The hope here is that there will be some real change in the way the county government is administered and that the new commissioners will not fall into the same rut which has been the way of life in the past. It is too easy to have double the registered voters (Republican party) and essentially be assured of a win no matter what. This time it didn’t happen. If the Democratic party wants to retain control here, they better produce and do it fairly quickly!
By the way, for those who don’t know, both Lackawanna and Bradford Counties now also have a Democratic majority in their respective commissioners offices.
Time to move on to the next topic. Although politics is a huge source of interest in Susquehanna County, the election is over. There are many, many subjects which need to be discussed. So, let’s get started! As always, your suggestions are most welcome. Just post as a response here.
No, the election is not over, ask Gary.
He will tell you that it is still going on.
Who won the Lenox school director spot?
For the purpose of discussion, it will be assumed that “Gary” in the previous post is Gary Wilder, Voter Registrar. Why is the election still going on? Aren’t we down to official certification of the results by the elections board? Maybe there is a sore loser who wants to challenge the results? That would be almost too shocking to bear! For a second, I thought I missed the Election Board’s finalization of the 2007 election results.
No idea who won the Lenox School Director spot. Maybe someone else oficially knows…, maybe Gary?? One name was bantered about as having lost. This person lives in Lenox Township and owns a substantial business.
Wait! If anyone thinks there will be a change to the results, there is as much chance of that as seeing a squadron of pigs take off and fly to the moon from Hallstead International Airport. Or better yet, there is a better chance of seeing Lee Smith miss a church dinner than either write-in candidate having a successful challenge to the election results. If Wilder wrote the results which were detailed earlier, why would they change significantly?
It has been told around that Ordie Price lost the election for MV School Director. Don’t know who won tho. Maybe it’s just diner talk.
While commissioners race is of course important to all in the county, on the local level, the younger people with school aged children in the Mountain
View school district came out in large numbers to support a write-in
candidate running against a well established school director. They were “up in arms” , stating many grievances. What are those grievances? Why are
they so angry? Why do they feel they have to do something like a massive write-in campaign to feel like they are being heard. What my friends, is
going on in the Mountain View school system? The people in Lenox anxiously await, who is their school director? Will it be Jay or Ordie? Let’s have dinner.
