So, the following thoughts and questions come to mind here… What is going on? It seems what is or was accepted or acceptable is being turned upside down at an ever increasing rate.
So, are we unAmerican if we question what is going on in Islamberg, NY, but (or and) are we unAmerican if we subscribe to any of these thoughts in the second story?
To be absolutely clear, this writer is accusing no one of anything improper in the community of Islamberg, NY. But could you be considered to be a member of a militia if you support (ed) Ron Paul in the past election for example? Isn’t this awfully close to a double standard for our government?
What is happening to Free Speech (and with it Free thought). If one didn’t know any better, one could assume that it is only for non judeo-christian types. Or, if it isn’t politically correct, don’t think it or say it.
Not going to happen here. How about you? I love the First Amendment, Don’t you?
Wow, they have a shooting range. If every shooting range was considered a terroist threat, we’d be doomed.
It’s good for each of us to be vigilant, but it’s still a live and let live democracy.
Besides, it’s everyday Americans who are shooting each other.
If some people in our country are falling apart, maybe it’s because we can’t do for ouselves anymore - we’ve let the powers that be (government and gigantic buisness) run our lives. So along comes a recession, and some people fall apart. How about some self-sufficiency, like our ancestors practiced? Don’t go backwards in time necessarily, but use the best of the past and combine it with the best of the present so that we have a firm foundation in self-sufficiency. We don’t want any old wind to knock us down, and the economy, no matter its staus will always knock us down if we can’t do for ourselves.
It’s funny how done at home/community inventiveness lessens our fears. There’s a lot of smarts in our county; how about if we share it and learn to do for ourselves instead of watching tv and constantly being in fear?
